Backup Local Database

It is recommended to perform regular backups of AnyLexic database. Backup operation creates a backup .FDB file which can later be used to restore your database to the state in which it was backed up.

 

To backup your AnyLexic database:

1.On the Database menu click Manage.

2. Click Backup button.

3. Backup Database dialog will prompt you to select name and preferred location of backup file:

Database field displays the path to the current database file, which is about to be backed up.
Backup Path displays target path, where backup file will be saved. By default it displays the last backup path used by you. You can change it using Select button.
Backup File field displays the name of the backup file. Default name of the backup file is:

current Year.Month.Day_Hours-Minutes-Seconds_AnyLexic.fbk.

This format is adopted for easy sorting of backups within Windows file system. You can change the name of backup file.

 

4. Click OK to start the back up procedure, or click Cancel to close the window.
